LG P990 Optimus 2X Unlocked QuadBand GSM Phone with Android OS, 4.0" Display, 8 MP Camera, Wi-Fi and GPS--International Version without Warranty

The phone works great. The touchscreen is really sensitive which is good because I've had other LG touchscreen phones that didn't work so well. As for the display, it is great, beautiful colors and resolution. The phone is big but it fits in your pocket and your hand with no problem. The camera records HD videos in 1080p and 720p, but 720p is slightly better. The materials of the phone are nice, they make the phone look really elegant. The only problem is battery consumption, it barely makes it through the day, but it's totally worth it. Overall it's a really great phone, it comes with all the accessories but car charger. I'm happy with the purchase and it probably kicks the iPhone's ass in processing power.

LG Optimus GT540 Unlocked GSM Quad-Band Phone with 3 MP Camera, Android OS, Touch Screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth--International Version with No US Warranty (White)

As far as the phone itself goes. It's great! It's no Samsung Galaxy or HTC EVO , or whatever high end smartphone you want to name... But it is a great little phone for the price tag. It was received in a non sealed box ( inside the sealed shipping package of course ) . The battery was fully charged ( not in phone ) and the phone already has Android OS 2.1 installed on it. Leading me to believe that it's perhaps refurbished or "pre-prepared" as you can get these phones like that at some retail stores... But none the less, the phone is scratch free complete with protective film on front back and edges. The phone is quick and lag free even after i loaded it up with apps. I have no complains on the performance of this phone.

** I knew this going in.. but some of you may not have done your research. So let me shed some insight on using this phone in the US. **

You have 2 GSM providers to choose from in the US T-Mobile and AT&T ( all other GSM providers you might find in the US are piggybacking off of the AT&T or T-Mobile network and use the same 3G frequencies ) - Both of these providers are using dual bands for their 3g UTMS frequencies : AT&T uses 850Mhz / 1900Mhz - and T-Mobile uses 900Mhz / 2100mhz . This Phone does support these frequencies , but only the BASIC GSM frequencies . But when you are talking 3g signals, Your unlocked phone needs to have support for both frequencies as UTMS that your US GMS provider requires in order to pick up their 3g signal. And you can see that this phone only supports UTMS 900/2100 dual. So getting a 3g signal in the US on this phone is simply impossible. You'll be stuck on 2G/EDGE

HOWEVER..... What this phone is great for , is 3G connection on almost every other continent except for North America. In Europe and Asia this phone will grab a 3g signal the moment you land in the country ( provided you have an active SIM from that country) . Reason being is because most countries outside of US, Canada and Mexico all have a single UTMS frequency for their 3G.. which is 2100Mhz ... So Therefore this is a great phone to use while traveling abroad, if you're concerned about getting a 3G connection while your in Japan on vacation for example.

Lg P500 Optimus One Android PDA 3.15 Camera Mobile Phone 2gb (Black) - International Version w/ No Warranty

LG Optimus one p500 glowing reviews are all over the web.

Bought mine a week ago and it is everything as they said. Good phone.

Good phone for folks who just want to get on the web without breaking the bank.

Some learning curve such as learning to disable all application sync & auto-connection to further extend battery life, never install battery draining apps such as wikitude, and installing a free screen lock app.

Android 2.3 upgrade coming in May. It will be even better.

General side gripe: Unfortunately there are no charging case accessories in the market for almost all other brands except iphones. Which would be really nice to further extend battery life.

New Unlocked LG GX500 Dual Sim Phone in Black with wi-fi, 3.2MP Camera, MP3 Player, Integrated SNS, and 3 inch WQVGA Display- International version

I got quite fed up of having two phones in my pocket at any given time. One was for personal calls and the other was for business. Anyway the time came where I required a new phone so was weighing my options on whether to get a older android model and stick with two, or get a dual sim. I scoured the net looking for good options and came across the LG GX500. With mostly good reviews and watching a dozen videos on it I decided to take this one.

So far the phone performs stably. The touchscreen, even though resistive, really is not a problem to use. I'm getting faster typing using the full querty and was able to type an entire paragraph without any errors. There is usually a slight delay when switching screens but is very minor. Of course the phone is not intended to be capable of keeping up with the likes of the HTC android beasts. However, it has something that I find more valuable than the fastest or smartest. It has the Dual Sim Standby which works great! Making or receiving calls from either sim is a breeze with better than average reception on either.

Cons:
1. PC Suite is a waste of time. I cannot for the life of me get it working properly and I'm a IT Tech. Always gives problems, and if the phone rings during a large sync....forget about it. You gotta start over.

2. Good Java apps/games are few and far between, but then again you must understand that this is not a smart phone so your options will be limited.

3. Where I live there aren't any area codes before the number. Instead the phone only recognizes the country code. So for the phone to recognize my contacts I would have to manually include the country code on 200 numbers. example instead of 555-5555 I have to go put in the xxx-555-5555. Not much fun.

LG Thrive Prepaid Android GoPhone (AT&T)

Nothing beats ATT's goPhone rates and this phone has kicked it up to the next level. I was using a goPhone before and was surprised when I saw the packaging for this phone that the plan rates had dropped to $0.10/min with NO commitment. I think the phone is great but I haven't used any other smart phones before, but it performs as well as one of my daughter's 4th gen. ipod touch. The Android interface is nice but it does take some time and work to learn how to use it, not as intuitive as apple's OS but I like the flexibility. I was able to use the "old" goPhone for $100 per year, I'm guessing that the smart phone will run me ~$230 per year ($5/mo. 200 messages, $5/mo. 10mb + a couple of $25/500MB, and about $5/mo phone) that's less than $20 PER MONTH. All the extra "hardware" will really eat up a battery so you have to be prudent to use the "power panel" widget to keep WiFi, GPS, 3G, and BT turned off when you aren't using them. I was REALLY surprised to find this phone had GPS for only $150 and that feature, and GOOGLE Sky work very well.

If you are looking for a budge phone where you have full control over the cost then this is for you. You don't HAVE to buy a data plan, but I've found that I get by perfectly well (google account sync, periodic checking static web sites, downloading games) with the plans I mention above, because everything carries over month to month so you buy the 500MB packages when you get low and buy the 10MB packages to keep your balance "alive". All the other "fun" stuff I just do at home connected to my wifi...

LG Optimus GT540 Unlocked GSM Quad-Band Phone with 3 MP Camera, Android OS, Touchscreen, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth--No Warranty (Black) by LG

Let me start by saying you will love this phone if you know what you are buying. And what are you buying? A/ Bang for your buck.

Externally, the phone looks great. I love the shape, the size, of both the phone and the screen, is perfect for my taste and the battery cap is both easy to remove and locks in securely.

As for the battery, it lasts 48 hours with moderate use (I don't keep wifi or APN on all the time).

As for the software, Android is great. The Android Market has LOTS of apps but it can be overwhelming at first. Also, most apps require access to a lot of personal data, which I feel is unnecessary at times.

The phone is fast, but as any computer it gets sluggish after a while and you need to restart it to clean your memory. Or get an app to do this, but I haven't decided on one yet.

At last, the screen. It won't win any awards, but it looks nice enough. You won't be able to make anything out in direct sunlight, but I don't usually use my phone outside during the day, I'm stuck in an office. The resistive screen is soft to the touch, but those used to capacitive screens will have a hard time getting used to pressing rather than brushing. (Light pressing, I mean, very light)...

Only con is It can't seem to get a 3G signal on my carrier, so I'm stuck with 2G for now.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase, you can't get any better for the price...

LG Optimus Prepaid Android Phone (Virgin Mobile)

I have had this phone for five months, and I thought I would give my final impressions of the device.

First off, the battery life isn't amazing, but I've found that turning off data while I don't use it is really helpful. The phone lasts for days. If I need to check something online, I quickly go into my settings, turn it on, and check what I need to check. Before I started doing that, I realized that the phone would last MAYBE six or seven hours.

Web browsing has actually gotten a lot better. I was a little worried after three months in. There were times I couldn't get on a web page at all, but I feel that the problem has been resolved.

GPS is still reliable and better than my Garmin.

I actually no longer use this phone as an mp3 player. Even with Double Tap, I felt that it lacked organization.

I have experienced a few dropped calls. One time in particular, I was calling a friend, and our call was dropped four or five times within the hour. I'm not sure if it was his phone or mine, but it had never happened before, and it hasn't happened since.

This phone is really your best bet if you're on a budget yet want to experience a midrange smart phone. Does it have the capabilities of an iPhone or Droid? It's actually pretty close and for the price, I can't complain. $60.00 a month for unlimited everything and a quality phone is fantastic. If I decide I never want to see this phone or this company again, I'm not forced to pay a fee for having a choice. I can easily go online and cancel my services, and I'm not waiting on the phone to speak to a representative. In the five years I've used prepaid phones, I've never had to speak to one person regarding my phone, terms of service, etc. That alone is worth the price in saved time and frustration.
